The USJ-R Communication and Journalism Review (CJR) is an annual research journal published by the Department of Journalism and Communication of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) in Cebu city, Philippines. It may on occasions publish special issues on specific  themes or topics. Being a peer-reviewed journal, CJR adopts the double-blind review process wherein the reviewer/s and the author/s do not know each other’s identity.

CJR is dedicated to the enrichment of the discourses in communication and journalism studies in Southern Philippines and the Southeast Asian region through the publication of scholarly, peer-reviewed high-quality researches in the field. It aims to be a part in understanding and communicating the Southern Philippine and Southeast Asian communicative experience by capturing the voices and perspectives of its diverse population through research.  To achieve this, it subscribes to the policy that all the articles contained therein must meet the rigors of an independent double-blind peer-reviewing system and editing to ensure that the publication possesses scientific and academic merit.
